The 3 Guianas Tour is a 14-day journey through Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, connecting rainforest wilderness, colonial capitals and coastal outposts in one seamless itinerary. From Kaieteur Falls and the wildlife-rich Rupununi savannahs to Paramaribo’s historic centre and the Îles du Salut off the coast of French Guiana, the route offers a rare look at one of South America’s least travelled regions.
This tour combines guided wildlife experiences, river journeys, cultural encounters and historic exploration, while all cross-border logistics are handled throughout. It is designed for travellers seeking depth, variety and a structured way to experience three distinct countries within one coordinated journey.

Itineraries
Day 1: Friday
Arrival in Guyana
Arrive in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, South America’s only English-speaking country and gateway to vast rainforests, powerful rivers and diverse wildlife.
Private airport transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Saturday
Kaieteur Falls Excursion and City Tour
This morning, fly inland over uninterrupted rainforest before the landscape suddenly opens to reveal Kaieteur Falls. At 741 feet, it is the world’s largest single-drop waterfall — nearly five times the height of Niagara, yet surrounded by untouched wilderness.
Step onto the plateau and walk to several viewpoints where the Potaro River drops into a deep gorge below. Feel the spray rising from the falls and the steady force of water carving through the rainforest. The isolation and scale of Kaieteur make it one of South America’s most powerful natural experiences.
After returning to the coast, explore Georgetown, where colonial wooden architecture stands alongside rapid modern development.

Day 3 - 4: Sunday & Monday
Karanambu Ranch and Wildlife Sanctionary (Rupununi)
Transfer south to the Rupununi, a vast savannah region known for its wildlife and open landscapes. Fly over rainforest and grasslands to Lethem, then continue by vehicle to Karanambu Ranch.
During your stay, enjoy guided excursions in the early morning and late afternoon, when wildlife activity is highest. Explore by boat, on foot and by vehicle across rivers, forest edges and savannah plains.

Birdlife is abundant on both savannah and river systems. Possible species include Black-chinned Antbird, Striped Woodcreeper, Blue-backed Manakin, Rufescent Tiger-Heron, Agami Heron and Wattled Jacana.
Seasonal conditions may allow boating through flooded forest areas, adding a different perspective to the landscape.
Evenings offer opportunities for wildlife spotting and night walks.

Day 5: Tuesday
Transfer to Sloth Island Reserve
Take a Morning Flight to Georgetown, Guyana's capital city and transfer to the town of Parika, where you will drive over the Harbor Bridge—the longest floating bridge in the world. From there, continue your journey by boat along the Essequibo River, Guyana's largest river, which is 20 miles wide at its widest point. Continue to Sloth Island and spend 2 nights/3 days. The island has recently recorded 188 species, including Puff birds, Manikins, toucans and Parakeets.
Day 6: Thursday
Sloth Island/Mazaruni River
After breakfast, you will explore the trails of Sloth Island to search for howler monkeys, sloths and some of the 188 birds which adorn the rainforest at Sloth Island. Afterwards, you canoe to nearby Amerindian villages or enjoy fishing at night. A short visit to the Mazaruni River will reveal the first Dutch settlement in Guyana—Kyk-overal. You will spend the afternoon at Parrot Island, where thousands of parrots come to roost. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 7: Friday
Return to Georgetown
Morning nature walks before departing for Georgetown in the afternoon and overnight at hotel. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch)
Day 8: Saturday
Guyana/Suriname
You will depart early in the morning for the flight to Paramaribo - the capital of Suriname. Suriname is a former Dutch colony with a fascinating mix of cultures. Its European influences are evident in the architecture and language. On arrival, transfer to your hotel and overnight at Hotel.
Day 9: Sunday
Paramaribo/French Guiana
Your bilingual driver/guide will transfer you to the Albina border 93 miles (150 km). You will go through Immigration formalities and then ferry to French Guiana. Continue to Kourou. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Monday
Boat Trip to Ile Du Salut
After breakfast, journey by ferry to île Royale. You will not go to Devil's Island but see it from the Auberge. Devil'sIsland became famous through Henri Charriere's book- Papillon. You will visit the ruins of the penal settlement at île Royale and learn about the Dreyfus Affair. Weather permitting, sail to île Joseph, where most prisoners lived. Return to your hotel in the afternoon. (Meals: breakfast)
Day 11: Tuesday
Arianespace Centre
Transfer to Arianespace Centre. The 3-hour tour starts at 8:00 a.m. A shuttle bus will take you to the central installations, where you will enjoy an unforgettable time. Continue to Paramaribo, Suriname. Transfer to hotel for overnight. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 12: Wednesday
Paramaribo City Tour and River Tour
Paramaribo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Shaded, tree-lined avenues, seventeenth-century Dutch wooden structures with synagogues, Muslim mosques and Christian churches coexist peacefully side by side. Continue by private boat up the Commenwijne River, where you will pass fishing villages and former colonial plantations of which most are no longer active. Visit the open-air museum at Niew Amsterdam and Marienburg, the oldest former sugar plantation in Suriname. Return to your hotel about 5:00 p.m. for overnight. (Meals: Breakfast, lunch)

Day 13: Thursday
Joden Savanna and Maroon Village Tour
Depart the hotel at 8:00 a.m. Transfer to Joden Savannah - a former Jewish settlement inhabited by Jews who fled the inquisition in Europe around 1650.
Remnants of the oldest synagogue in the Americas and the ruins of a graveyard are still evident. Now cleaned and maintained by the Jewish community, this area houses a simple cottage used as a museum. Here, visitors find information about this unique, historic graveyard in the forest of Suriname.
Your trip continues with a visit to the Maroon village of Kalsscreek for a visit with the descendants of enslaved West Africans.
