Day 1

Arrive in Suriname

Pick up and transfer to Eco Resort Inn. Reception upon arrival in Paramaribo.

Day 2

Paramaribo City Tour

You will enjoy a half-day tour of the port capital city of Paramaribo and a visit to the Paramaribo Zoo. With time permitting, we will also visit the Fort Zeelandia Museum and the Palm garden.

Later, transfer by bus for a 2 to 3-hour ride to Brownsberg Nature Park.
Overnight in bungalows located on the plateau overlooking the manmade reservoir, Van Blommenstein Meer.

Day 3

Brownsberg Nature Park

A day hiking in the Reserve. In the afternoon, return by bus to Paramaribo. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 4

Ralleighvallen Nature Reserve

This nature reserve, situated along the Coppename River, has an area of 78.170 acres and is a gateway to the Central Suriname Nature Reserve. Travel by chartered aircraft.

The reserve headquarters and the tourist lodges are located on Fungu Island in the middle of the Coppename River. You will stay for the next 3 nights at the Gonini/Lolopasi Eco lodges. On arrival, visit the Manarivallen, where you can take a refreshing bath.

After dinner, the guide will inform you about the Central Suriname nature reserve and the Marroon culture in this area. The days here are filled with jungle hikes, mountain hikes, bird watching and dugout canoe trips.

In the late afternoon, take dugout canoe rides around the island, which offers sightings of different bird species and, of course, the serene, untouched tropical rainforest.

Day 5

Ralleighvallen Nature Reserve

Spend the day exploring. A typical day may begin early in the morning.

Depart equipped with a lunchbox and flask to the Voltzberg. The hike takes about 3 hours. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful flora and fauna.

Rest at the base camp at the foot of the mountain. The trip continues with climbing to the top of the mountain (approx. 240 m high.). Here is where you will have a magnificent view of the rainforest canopy.

After lunch, hike back to the riverside. Take a relaxing bath in the Anjumara vallen.

Dinner is served at the lodge (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 6

Ralleighvallen Nature Reserve

A day for exploring and relaxing. Take an educational hike to the Moedervallen. If possible, swimming is allowed at the Lolopasi beach.

In the afternoon, hike around Fungu Island. The guide will tell you more about flora and fauna of Ralleighvallen.

Day 7

Free Day to Explore

Early morning to explore, relax or swim. Late in the morning, the return flight departs for Paramaribo.

Transfer from Zorg & Hoop airfield to the Eco-Resort Inn.

Later, you can explore the city and visit Ready Tex, a native arts and crafts Gallery.

Day 8

Paramaribo Commewijne Plantation

After breakfast, travel along the Commewijne river by boat to various Old Dutch colonial plantations, of which some are still active.

Visit the New Amsterdam Museum, Marienburg, the oldest sugarcane plantation in Suriname, Rust en Werk, the Tilapia fishery and agricultural projects in Alkmaar, Katwijk and surroundings.

You will see fishermen in the area pull in the shrimps. Visit the fish smokery. Return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 9


Transfer from the Eco-Resort to the airport for your return flight.

Accommodation, internal flights, transfers between airports and hotels, listed hotels and hotel taxes, activities as described and admission charges where applicable, river and land transfers, listed, lodges with full board and other meals as indicated. Local guides, local beverages.
