A true sport fishing experience

Rewa, located at the confluence of the Rewa and Rupununi rivers, is home to the legendary arapaima, one of the world's largest freshwater fish. With some specimens exceeding 10 feet in length and weighing over 400 pounds, this species is a bucket-list catch for any angler on an Arapaima fishing tour.

These massive fish play a crucial role in the region's delicate ecosystem, which is why community-led conservation programs, like those supported by the Sustainable Wildlife Management (SWM) Programme, work to ensure arapaima populations remain stable through regulated fishing and protection efforts.

Beyond the arapaima, these rich waters are teeming with:

  • Peacock bass: Aggressive fighters known for their vibrant colours and powerful strikes.
  • Payara (Vampire fish): A fierce predator with dagger-like teeth.
  • Giant catfish: Including the redtail catfish, piraiba, and jau.

Led by expert indigenous guides, you'll traverse hidden lagoons, deep river channels, and remote fishing spots to target these incredible species. All fishing is strictly catch-and-release, ensuring that future generations can contribute to the experience of this rare angling paradise.
