This
14 day tour natural history and culural expedition focuses on St Lucia,
Martinique Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana.In St Lucia, you will
visit Pigeon island, Rodney Bay, the Soufriere volcano, Sulphur
springs, diamond waterfalls, the magnificent pitons and Castries. You
will also discover the beautiful island of Martinique and immerse
yourself in the french way of life. Then, you will explore the vast
rainforests in Guyana, including the mighty Kaieteur Falls -the oldest
rock formation on the Guiana Shield, and the incredibly beautiful
garden city which have many old colonial buildings dating back to the
18th and 19th century. You will then visit the culturally rich country
of Paramaribo with its European influences and Dutch Speaking people,
before heading to French Guiana, a department of France. Hear stories
of the penal system and relive Henri Charie's novel ' Papillion' on
this visit of French Guiana. Not to be forgotten is the famous Dreyfus
Affair.

Itinerary
Sunday - Arrival in St Lucia
Arrive in St. Lucia. Pick up and transfer to your hotel for overnight. Monday - St Lucia-Full Day Island tour:
Depart early for your tour, which includes, Soufriere, Sulphur Springs,
Botanical Gardens and Diamond Springs, the Pitons, Morne Fortune,
colourful waterfalls, Castries and the village of Choiseul. Late return
to hotel. O/N.B.
Tuesday - St Lucia - Pigeon Island and Rodney Bay.
Morning tour of Pigeon Island and afternoon visit of Rodney bay.
Wednesday -Day Trip to Martinique
Early depart first by bus to pier and then continue on to Martinique.
All day in Martinique. Afternoon return to hotel. B.
Thursday - Departure from St Lucia- Arrival in Guyana.
Arrive in Guyana. Met by our representative and transfer to your hotel
for 3 nights
Friday - Georgetown city tour:-
Morning city tour of Georgetown, including St Georges Cathedral-the
tallest free standing wooden building in the world- , picturesque City
hall, the Victorian Law courts and many heritage sites, the national
museum , botanical gardens and zoo. Return to hotel. Rest of day free
to relax. (B)
Friday - Kaieteur Falls /Sloth Island-
Morning flight to Kaieteur Falls. See the majestic 740 ft natural
wonder from different vantage points. Spend 2 hours at the falls.
Picnic lunch and afternoon flight to Sloth Island an incredible nature
reserve which has more than 120 species of birds. You may also
encounter monkeys and sloth along the nature trail. Overnight at Sloth Island. (B) (L)
Saturday:-Mazaruni River tour.
Today
you will be transferred to the Marshall rapids with stops at the oldest
dutch fort- kykoveral. Along the way see the Mazaruni prison, Bartica,
and an Amerindian Village of Agatash. Return to Sloth island for overnight.
Sunday Return to Georgetown
After
lunch, you will be transferred to Georgetown by boat and bus to
Georgetown. On the way, we will stop at the Heritage Meuseum for an
interesting view of Garys artefacts.
Transfer to hotel in Georgetown for overnight.
Monday: Fly to Suriname
Transfer to airport
for flight to Paramaribo Suriname. 7:00 am departure.9:30 am arrival in
Paramaribo. Met by our representative and transfer to hotel for check
in. Afternoon city tour of Paramaribo, including guided tour by bus
along the most prominent historic locations in the city center where
you will be impressed by the outstanding architecture. You will also
visit Fort Zeelandia, Palmentuin (Palm Garden), the Waterkant and the
Central Market. Return to hotel. Rest of afternoon free to visit the
Casino or shop for Souvenirs. Return to Torarica Hotel and Casino for
overnight. (B)
Tuesday - Overland to French Guiana:-
Morning transfer to Albina by air conditioned car. This is a one and a
half hour drive.to Crossing to be made and then transfer to Kourou.
Transfer to Mercure Atlantis for 2 nights.(B)
Wednesday: Devil's Islands tour:-
Transfer to Ile Royale for your Devil's island tour. Spot presentation
by English Guide. See Devil's Island from the Auberage and learn about
the legend behind "Papillon". Learn about Dreyfus and about the French
Guiana colonial era . Visit the ruins of the penal settlement. Then
visit Joseph Island. Late afternoon return to hotel.
Thursday: - Arianne Space Centre/Cayenne
Transfer to Ariane space centre. Bus shuttle to the main installations
and get to know more about the space program. Afterwards, you will be
transferred to Cayenne for city tour including the most prominient
historical sites. Stay in Cayenne hotel. Friday: Transfer to Paramaribo.
After breakfast, you will depart French Guiana and transfer to Paramaribo.Transfer to Torarica Hotel and Casino for overnight.
Saturday: Departure
Transfer to airport for your flight.
