On this wildlife and natural history tour you will enjoy a taste of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana and their most famous sights. Discover the rainforest , Guyana's natural wonder, Kaieteur Falls, the colonial architecture and forts. Visit Karanambu and learn about Diane Mc Turks' programme to rehabilitate Gaint otters to their habitat. Venture into the wild on a river trip and encounter the abundant wildlife which roams free in the Rupununi Savannahs. Be amazed at the rich cultural mix of South America and the Caribbean..

The journey focuses on the region's cultural and natural wonders, featuring the most important cities, historic sites and spectacular scenery, including Kaieteur Falls, Devil's Islands and the Arianne Space center.  

Itinerary                                    

Saturday- Arrival Guyana:- 
Arrival in Guyana, South America's only English speaking country. Guyana is a nature lover's gem, waiting to be discovered. It is known as the land of many waters and the giants of the world, among them; the mighty Essequibo river, Giant Arapaima fish, mighty Harpy eagle, the Anaconda, Giant Otters and Jaguars. You are privately transferred to your hotel. Overnight.

Sunday - Kaieteur Falls Excursion & City tour :- 
Morning departure from your hotel to airport for our chartered flight to Kaieteur Falls . Kaieteur National Park is situated on the Guiana Shield, a plateau that is one of the world's oldest and remotest geological formations. The entire National Park is located within one of the largest and most biodiverse rainforests in the world. The park is home to the tiny golden frog which spends it entire life in the large tank bromeliads; white-chinned and white-collared swifts; red and green macaws, Morpho hecuba, South America's largest butterfly, the Ocelot, the Cock-of-the Rock, tapirs, otters, agoutis, bush dogs, and many more. This natural wonder has a sheer drop of 741 feet and is 5 times the height of Niagara Falls . 

After anextremely fascinating tour of Kaieteur falls, we return to Georgetown and city tour of Georgetown , including St Georges Cathedral-the tallest freestanding wooden building in the world- picturesque City hall, the Victorian Law courts and many heritage sites, the national museum, botanical gardens and zoo. Return to hotel. BL

Monday -Guyana/Surinam:
Morning departure for your flight to Paramaribo. Suriname is a former Dutch Colony with fascinating mix of cultures. Its European influences are evident in its architecture and the spoken language. On arrival transfer to your hotel for overnight. B

Tuesday : Paramaribo/ French Guiana:- 
Early transfer to Albina with air-conditioned car and bilingual guide. Cross with Ferry and transfer to Kourou overland and to your hotel for overnight. B

Wednesday : Devils Islands Tour:- 
After breakfast, transfer to Ile Royale for your Devil's Island tour. Spot presentation by English speaking Guide. See Devil's Island from the Auberge and learn about the Dreyfus affair and about the French Guiana colonial era and its cruel past. Visit the ruins of the penal settlement. If time permits, visit Joseph Island . Late afternoon return to hotel.B

Thursday : Ariane Space Centre:-
Transfer to Ariane space centre.The tour starts at 8:00 AM -11:00  am complete tour with bus shuttle to the main installations. Get to know more about the space program. Return to hotel and noon departure for Paramaribo, Suriname. Transfer to hotel for overnight.B

Friday : Paramaribo City tour:
 After breakfast, a city tour of Paramaribo. Here you will find diverse races and cultures. See the shaded, tree-lined avenues , seventeenth-century Dutch wooden structures ,modern hotels and office buildings.Visit  Muslim mosques, Hindu temples, Jewish synagogues and Christian churches which coexist peacefully side by side. Overnight at Hotel Eco Resort.B

Saturday : Suriname / Guyana:
Transfer to airport for return flight to Guyana. Upon arrival you will be picked up and transferred by bus across the Demerara  Harbour Bridge- longest floating Bridge in the world.  A stop at the heritage museum to meet the enthusiastic Gary who'll show you his prized possessions dating back to the 17th century.  


You will contnue on to Parika where you will join a boat to Sloth Island. Sloth Island is a new reserve which has an abundance of birds and wildlife. It is a great place to relax, view wildlife, fish, and canoe/paddle. Self contained rooms are spacious, comfortable and equipped with fans and local furnishings. Overnight at Sloth Island.

Sunday : Sloth Island/Mazaruni River:-
Today, after breakfast, you will explore the trails of Sloth Island. We will search for howler monkeys, sloths, tapirs, and some of the 120 bird species which adorn the rainforest at Sloth Island. Afterwards, you can canoe to nearby Amerindian villages or enjoy fishing at night. A short visit to the Mazaruni River, will reveal the first Dutch Settlement in Guyana- Kyk-overal. Some time is also spent walking through the busy street s at Bartica. In the late afternoon you will be transferred to Parrot Island to see the thousands of parrots which come in to roost. Parrot island can be reached from Sloth island in five minutes!. Overnight at Sloth Island Nature reserve. BLD

Monday : Return to Georgetown: - 
Today, you will enjoy a relaxing morning before departing for Georgetown in the afternoon. Hotel in Georgetown.BL

Tuesday : Karanambu Ranch & Giant Otters:
Karanambu is one of Guyana 's leading eco tourism destinations, popular because of the well-publicized interest of its owner, Diane McTurk, in conserving the endangered giant river otter. Located in the Rupununi, Karanambu offers rustic but comfortable accommodations. Overnight at Karanambu Lodge.BLD

Wednesday- Karanambu Ranch :-
You will sample activities such as: bird watching, canoeing, caiman spotting and wildlife viewing. The possibilities are endless and the best part is that most options are included in this tour. Even a swim with the 'Diane's otters' can give a sense of pure satisfaction. Birdlife is rich and varied; both on the savannah and more along the rivers and ponds. On our guided tours we will most likely see the big birds- Jabiru stork, the Great Egret, the Agami Heron and the Great Blue Heron- as well as  different species of Kingfishers.  As we move into the ponds we see the Green Ibis, Snowy Egrets, Boatbill heron, the Purple Gallinule and the Wattled Jacana both stepping on the large Victoria Amazonian lilies.
